Eight girls from Years 4 and 5 competed at the annual Queen Anne’s School Mathematics Olympiad on Wednesday. Events were based around Olympic events, including ‘Front Crawl’ and the ‘Marathon’. Our current Year Six Jazz Club, consisting of Freya, Rosie, Ian, Louisa, Henry and James had their first gig outside school yesterday, playing at the Village Hall for around 60 pensioners support by the FISH Volunteer Centre. On Thursday 8th June Mr Andrews took the KS2 Quad Kids team to Chiltern Edge for the Quad Kids tournament. Our girls football team competed in a local competition recently and came second.
Our returning officer Mr Andrews announced the results of the SCPS Y4 and Y5 election as follows: Well done to the Green Party, they were helped along by the fact that the Labour candidates also voted Green rather than Labour!
This morning children in Year Four and Year Five held hustings for the five main parties, and then took part in a vote. We looking forward to the results!
Well done to Sam, Rhys, Louis and Luke who represented our school in the South Oxon swimming finals on Wednesday. The boys competed against five other schools and finished in a very respectable joint third. The boys were a credit to our school, demonstrating excellent sportsmanship. We are delighted to announce that SCPS has won the 2015-2017 Henley Schools Environmental Science Competition. The prize of a fantastic trophy and a cheque for £700 was presented to us this afternoon at the River and Rowing Museum.
