Remote learning

SCPS used Google Workspace for Education to enable children to continue their education with us during the COVID-19 pandemic. We also use a variety of other on-line resources which the children are already familiar with including Times Table Rockstars, EdShed Spelling, SumDog, Discovery Education Espresso, Oxford Owl (Read, Write Inc) phonics and reading schemes to name but a few which your child can access from home.

Here you will find useful documents explaining how our remote learning works.

Remote learning expectations

The Coronavirus Act 2020 and provision of remote education (England) temporary continuity (no. 2) direction expired on 24 March 2022 meaning that schools no longer have a legal duty to provide remote education: Government remote education statutory obligations and expectations

The Govenrment say our priority should always be to deliver high-quality face-to-face education to all pupils. Remote education should only ever be considered as a short-term measure and as a last resort where in person attendance is not possible. However we continue to be prepared to implement high quality remote education if required to do so in the future.
