Google Workspace for Education

SCPS use Google Workspace for Education as a key part of delivering the Computing curriculum and for delivering remote education during the COV-19 pandemic.  All children are identified within Workspace for Education as being under 18, and as such their access to some google apps is automatically restricted.

The Core Services enabled for pupils are:

Assignments, Calendar, Classroom, Drive and Docs, GMail (restricted to SCPS only no external email), Chrome Sync, Google Meet (restricted to teacher control), Google Vault, Keep, Sites, Tasks.

The Additional Services enabled for pupils are:

Applied Digital Skills, App Maker,  Chrome Web Store, Google Arts and culture, Google Bookmarks, Google Books, Google Cloud Platform, Google Cloud Print, Google Data Studio, Google Earth, Google Maps, Google My Maps, Google Photos, Google Search Console, Google Takeout, Google Translate, Materials Gallery.

Users under the age of 18 have restrictions in some Google services when they’re signed-in to their Google Workspace for Education account, for example all pupils have SafeSearch turned on by default across all browsers.  For a full list: Google services not available to under 18s
