The School Council have chosen Mind as our charity this year. Mind is a National charity helping everyone understand mental health problems, they provide advice and support to empower anyone experiencing a mental health problem. They campaign to improve services, raise awareness and promote understanding.

SCPS School council have decided that the best way to fundraise is to do something as an entire school community. With this in mind, we have joined the campaign RED January which we have nicknamed Active January. We would love for as many people to take part and donate as possible.

This January, challenge yourself to get active every day, your way. Whether you run, swim, cycle or choose your favourite fitness activity, set your goal and enjoy support from the SCPS school community every step, splash and pedal of the way! It could be a physical activity like walking the dog or something more challenging like playing sport. It could also be something to keep your brain active like singing, talking with family members or taking part in a quiz. You could even combine an active mind activity with an active body activity and go for a walk with a friend.

The whole idea is to raise as much money for the charity. No matter what you can donate or get someone to sponsor you, donations are being paid straight into the charity using the just giving page https://www.justgiving.com/fundraising/scpsredjanuary2020.

There will be various activities going on at school to help with this but if you would like to offer an activity sometime during January then please email the school office.

Finally, please record your activities everyday on the Active January Record Sheet and bring it back into school Monday 3rd February where we can continue the conversation of being active and our positive wellbeing.
