Just a reminder about our annual On Your Bike charity ride, a much-loved community event that is truly a ride, not a race.
This year’s ride will take place on Sunday 10th May 2026, starting and finishing in the school playground at Sonning Common Primary School. It’s a fantastic opportunity to enjoy some fresh air, explore our beautiful local countryside, and raise money for great causes.
Register your place online by this Friday, 24th April, to be entered into a free prize draw for the chance to win a brand-new bike, kindly donated by our key sponsor, A W Cycles (Caversham). The lucky winner, child or adult will be able to choose their bike.
We will be doing the prize draw in our Assembly on Monday 27th April.
This year, funds raised will support:
- Sonning Common Primary School PTA
- MECE Secondary School
- Sonning Common First Responders
There are three route options to suit all abilities: 6, 12, or 20 miles.
Please note:
- All children must be accompanied by a responsible adult
- Cycle helmets must be worn when riding on the road
For younger children who are unable to ride on the road, we will be running a playground ride in the KS1 area, so they can still take part safely off-road.
AW Cycles will be in the playground on the morning of 10th May for any last-minute bike safety checks, but feel free to pop your bike down to them before if you need a service or any checks, or bike accessories. Bike Shop In Reading | AW Cycles
A huge thanks also goes to Beville Estate Agency who provide and put up all the advertising boards around the village among many things and to Peppard Building supplies.
Events like this are only possible thanks to our amazing volunteers and marshals. If you are able to help for a short time in the morning of 10th May, we would be incredibly grateful: Sign up to help with marshalling.
And of course, our legendary BBQ will be ready to welcome cyclists back at the finish!
