Freezing at Forest Camp

Just in case anyone was wondering why we still take children to Forest Camp in this cold weather – the children have learnt about the weather first hand, they have seen the three states of water – ice had formed in the plunge bucket overnight, water was poured on the fire to put it out, which turned into steam.

We found footprints of different birds, cats(!) and squirrels (as did Mrs Simic) and made some natural art by re-freezing leaves into the plunge bucket ice.

The children were lent hats and gloves, had a hot chocolate and snack around the fire, sang Christmas songs and then they were back indoors before they got too cold.
