Sonning Common Primary School

Space to learn, grow and be inspired

Final week

This last post is a little different…instead of us filling you in on what’s been happening, each member of the Year 4 team has written a message. It would be incredible if you could share these messages with your children. Thank you for all your support this year.

Year 4, as we come to the end of our time together, I just wanted to say how amazing it has been to be your TA. Watching you learn, grow, laugh, and support one another all the way from Kites has made this final year so special. Thank you for all the smiles, funny moments, and memories you’ve given me. Keep believing in yourselves, 🐝 kind to others, and never be afraid to ask questions or have a go at something new. I hope you have a fantastic summer and enjoy all the exciting adventures that Year 5 will bring. I know you will continue to make your teachers proud. With lots of best wishes, Mrs Simic.

Year 4! I have loved being with you on Mondays for the last two years. In that time, I’ve seen you develop, grow up, have good days and bad and I have enjoyed our afternoons filled with Music and PE. Don’t forget to keep trying the recorder over the summer if you have your own one at home. Remember – hot cross buns is made up of just three notes! Enjoy your summers and good luck in Y5. Don’t be strangers! Mrs Casserley.

I’ve thoroughly enjoyed this year and getting to know you all. We’ve shared many fun moments, and it’s been wonderful to watch you all grow and mature. You’ve all worked incredicbly hard and should be very proud of everything you have achieved this year. Wishing you all the best of luck in year 5. Enjoy the summer! Mrs Lowe.

Thank you for a great year Year 4! I have loved having the opportunity to teach you again. My fondest memory is the battle at Ufton Court but I will not miss having to avoid saying the numbers 6 and 7 consecutively in Maths! Good luck in Year 5.  Mrs Hogan

Hello, Superstars! What an incredible year you’ve had! You’ve solved tricky problems, written fantastic stories, asked brilliant questions, and shown kindness to your friends. Every day you’ve learned something new, and you should all be so proud of yourselves. As you head off to your next adventure, don’t forget to laugh often, dream big, be kind, and always try your best. The future is full of exciting opportunities, and we know you’ll do amazing things! From, Mrs Goodwill!

Wow, what an absolute whirlwind of a year it has been! I honestly can’t quite believe we have reached the end of July already. From the very first morning back in September right up until today, the children have brought so much energy, laughter and hard work into the classroom. It has been such a joy to teach them and watch them grow into a fantastic, supportive team. We have squeezed so much into the last three terms and enjoyed every moment of it. Without exception, Year 4 have worked hard, looked out for each other and made this a truly unforgettable school year. A massive, heartfelt thank you to all of you at home too – your support, kind words and help behind the scenes have meant the world to us.
Have the most wonderful, relaxing and sunny summer break, Mrs Fox.
I’ve loved the enthusiasm from everyone this year, whether it’s been writing a newspaper report, creating soap sculptures or fighting Vikings in battle, you have put every effort into your activities. You should all be very proud of everything you have achieved this year, I know I am. It has been amazing to watch as you all develop your personalities and find your strengths, and to be a part of your learning journey. I shall be taking away some very fond memories, and I thank you all for that. Mrs Marrison.
From all of us in Year 4, it’s been a wonderful year and a pleasure to teach you all. Thank you for all of the cards and gifts, it’s very much appreciated. Enjoy your summer break, whatever you may be doing.
