Our Charities

At SCPS we feel it’s important to support charities because it teaches our pupils vital life skills like empathy, responsibility and teamwork, fosters a sense of community and global awareness, and helps them understand their power to make a positive difference in the world.

This year (2025-26) School Council have decided to link up with the Watoto Program, which runs schools in Kibera (a suburb of Nairobi in Kenya). We have good links with a school and its staff, and a reliable way of sending some of the things they need. We hope that our occasional fund-raising activities might be able to help in some small way. Currently, the school is short of student exercise books, pencils and staff diaries, so that will form the focus for our next efforts. School Council will help to lead the initiative, and several Year Six children have volunteered to produce display and other materials.

We also take part in fundraising to support children in the UK, usually for Children in Need, The Children’s Society, Save the Children, Shelterbox and Comic Relief/Sports Relief.

So far this year (2025-26) we have raised:

  • £407.93 for Children in Need (wearing a Pudsey item)
  • £178.97 for The Children’s Society (Christingles)
  • £294.67 for Save the Children (Christmas Jumper Day)
  • £109 for Shelterbox (retiring collection from KS1 Nativity performances)
