SCPS have a climate action, the implementation of which is overseen by our sustainability lead, Miss Snowden. Having a climate action plan helps us create a culture at SCPS which prioritises sustainability, improves our energy and water efficiency, reduces our carbon emissions and reduces our operating costs. The climate plan is based on
- adaptation and resilience: how we are preparing for and responding to the impacts of climate change
- biodiversity and nature: shows our efforts to protect and enhance nature and wildlife within our school
- climate education and green skills: how children at SCPS are supported to understand climate change, sustainability, and develop relevant skills
- decarbonisation and net zero: what actions we are taking to measure and reduce greenhouse gas emissions, working towards net zero
To help us these goals we have been part of the National Education Nature Park programme since 2024.
