On Tuesday, the Year 6 heads of houses, school council and head boy and head girl gathered to witness the unearthing of a time capsule buried back in 2000. Inside was a fascinating snapshot of school life 25 years ago: an old school jumper, coins, popular toys of the era, and heartfelt written accounts of daily life from children at the time. Those children would be aged 30–35 now. Are you one of them? If so, we’d love to hear from you and reunite you with your piece of the past: the contents of the capsule will be displayed on the KS2 playground after school on Friday.
On Monday, we’ll be reburying the original capsule, along with a brand new one capturing life at school in 2025. We can’t help but wonder: what will students in 2050 make of it?
Thank you to the Henley Standard for the images.
