Sports Day (Tuesday 27th)

We’re all very excited about Sports Day tomorrow and we hope you are too. Just a quick reminder about how it works on the day for KS2 (in the morning) and KS1 (in the afternoon).

Given the hot weather, it is essential that your child brings a named water bottle with water inside. As our school policy states, please refrain from putting squash in your child’s bottle. The children will need to come to school in their PE kit and have a named sun hat. Please can you also apply sun cream to your child before school. There isn’t any shade for spectators and limited bench seating so don’t forget your own suncream and perhaps a camp chair or rug to sit on.

KS2
Sports day starts at 9:30am and finishes at lunchtime. If you are coming to watch we kindly request that you stay in the designated spectator area and do not cross the track. We know it is tempting to want to congratulate your child after a race, but we ask that you don’t as it can make it difficult to keep the children focused and disrupts the races.

Children will be competing both on the track (sprints, lap, egg and spoon and relays) and in field events (vortex throw, long jump, speed bounce), so do ask your child which events they are competing in so you don’t miss their performance. Each year group competes in turn (starting with Y3) for each event (for example Y3 sprint, Y4 sprint, Y5 sprint, Y6 sprint, Y3 egg and spoon etc).

KS1
Sports day starts at 1:30pm and finishes at 3pm. The children will then go and collect their belongings from inside and we will send them home at 3:15 (as normal).

If you are coming to watch we kindly request that you stay in the designated spectator area. We know it is tempting to want to congratulate your child after a race, but we ask that you don’t as it can make it difficult to keep the children focused.

Fingers crossed for good weather for tomorrow.
