The Year Six Jazz Band excelled themselves this morning at the annual Peppard War Memorial Hall Fete.

A slightly cut-down line-up featured Toby, Devon, Amelia and Charlotte on vocal duties, Ben W on piano, Alice on drums, Joe on guitar and vocals, Ben H on cornet and vocals, and a horn section of Freddie (trumpet), Henry (alto sax), Nina (clarinet) and Emma on flute. They performed six tunes to a packed Hall, and the feedback from locals and parents was excellent – you could say a standing ovation (there were no chairs).

Well done to all – the first outside gig is always a somewhat nervy occasion, but they all handled it with their usual aplomb. Pretty impressive at age 11.

It was pleasing to note that Mr Hirst’s recycling initiatives were also featured at the event.
