Sonning Common Primary School

Space to learn, grow and be inspired

New Playground Markings
The PTA very kindly applied to One Stop’s Carriers For Causes Scheme https://www.onestop.co.uk/carriersforcauses.php for a grant to pay for playground markings. They wanted to help the school enhance the children’s playtime in a fun and educational way. KS1 have a colourful alphabet dragon and KS2 have 6 exercise stations to make up a fitness trail. There are also 2 x noughts and crosses grids on each playground which project Playgrounds, the contractors, threw in for free.

Year 6 garden
The PTA also agreed to fund the renovation of the Year 6 garden area. Nesko and Andy Parry did a brilliant job of preparing and levelling the area and then laying the artificial grass. Southern Plant Hire (Henley) http://www.southernplant.co.uk/ generously gave us the loan of the compacter, free of charge. The resulting space looks great and will be able to be used throughout the year at playtimes, for those who need a quieter area than the playground, and for outside work in a calm environment.

A huge thanks to the PTA for using their hard-earned funds to support these projects.
