Space to learn, grow and be inspired

Ofsted continues to rate SCPS as a good school

We are both pleased and proud to have been recognised by Ofsted during their inspection, on 8th March 2018, as a good school.

At the time of the last inspection, inspectors highlighted good teaching, ambitious leadership and strong spiritual, moral, social and cultural development. Ofsted have stated that these aspects remain strong. Ofsted consider us a good school because the staff know each of the pupils well, the teaching of phonics has improved substantially since the last inspection because pupils benefit from high quality teaching. Finally it was highlighted that children are safe and happy here because their teachers are ‘reassuring, kind and helpful’.

Our key areas for improvement are to ensure that progress within reading matches the progress pupils make in writing and mathematics, and to improve attendance for a small group of pupils. As the inspector acknowledges, actions are well under way to address both of these.

Thank you to all parents for your kind words and honest feedback, to our fantastic pupils during the inspection, and to our team of staff whose unwavering efforts underpin this outcome.

We are delighted to be recognised as a good school, and will continue to strive to be a great one.
