An enthusiastic 469 people took part in this year’s On Your Bike on Sunday 25th March to support Sonning Common’s good causes and have fun outdoors with family and friends. “Completing On Your Bike is a huge achievement for many of the children here today.” said On Your Bike Founder, Penny
Snowden. “The youngest rider to cycle the full 20 mile route under his own pedal power, was 6 year old Oscar N.” At least £3,000 has been raised so far from sponsors, entry fees and donations and 100% of all entry fees and sponsor donations are shared between Sonning Common Primary School, Sonning Common FISH, Sonning Common First Responders and Sue Ryder. The On Your Bike team, led by Tina Micallef, feels immensely proud to have facilitated another hugely successful ride. “Our sponsors and supporters have done us proud yet again this year. Thank you in particular to our wonderful marshals who’ve helped keep everyone safe again this year and came to the rescue of a few riders who were unlucky enough to suffer punctures. Our cafe volunteers worked really hard too, fuelling up our riders with delicious freshly cooked hot food and snacks.”
