Our current Year Six Jazz Club, consisting of Freya, Rosie, Ian, Louisa, Henry and James had their first gig outside school yesterday, playing at the Village Hall for around 60 pensioners support by the FISH Volunteer Centre.
The musicians appeared to show no nerves whatsoever and performed admirably – winning lots of applause and compliments from the audience – most of whom could not believe how young they were, and how well they played.
The setlist included well known jazz standards such as ‘Summertime’ (featuring Louisa) and ‘Fly me to the Moon’, and more contemporary tunes including ‘Never Forget You’ sung brilliantly by Rosie.
Well done to all. Next gig – the Summer Fair.
