Open Mornings for prospective parents

Word of mouth is the best advertising – if you know anyone whose children are due to start school in September 2019 then please encourage them to come and see us for our next open day. Mr Hirst wrote this for everyone who came recently:

I would like to thank all of the prospective parents who came to our Open sessions this week. I hope that you were all able to see how we focus on every child being an individual, and on enabling them to thrive in a supportive environment.

I hope that you were able to see how we are unique amongst the other local schools in being a two form entry village school, and how we really aim to provide the best overall experience for your child, underpinned by our school values – Respect, Truth, Kindness, Politeness and Doing your best.
You will remember that our wrap-around child care facility – from 7.30am through to the start of school and from the end of school through to 6.00pm – is run by our own staff and has a wide range of options for breakfast as well as a ‘proper’ cooked option for tea. We also pride ourselves on having a no-number limit per session with no advance booking required.

You will also remember that we teach children to swim throughout Years 1 to 6 and also run Forest School sessions from Reception through to Year 6. You may remember as well that we cook all of our meals on site from fresh local produce, – where possible and don’t require you to opt in or out for the whole of the week.

I hope you have seen and understood that we always achieve results well above the national average in the major subjects and aim to offer as wide a curriculum as possible. Each evening we regularly run two or three different after-school activities, led by the interests of our diverse and committed staff team, often making use of the beautiful and extensive grounds which form the school site.

If you would like another opportunity to see the school, but through the eyes of the Head teacher, please phone for an appointment and I would be happy to show you around.

If you are reading this for the first time and have never visited, please either come to one of our Open sessions in the near future, or book to have a tour of the school by the Head teacher.
