Hello everyone,

Welcome to Year 2! It has been lovely getting to know your children over the last few days in school.

This week

Literacy – We have been reading The Colour Monster and writing sentences using because and adjectives.

Maths – We have been learning about place value, looking at numbers to 100 and partitioning them.

Topic – We have started our topic on the Great Fire of London, looking at how London has changed from 1666 to 2026.

PE – We have been working on our rolling skills.

Reminders

Year 2 Curriculum Sharing – Tuesday 8th September at 5:45pm. A link should have been sent to you.

PE – Outdoor PE is on Mondays and indoor PE is on Wednesdays when we are not swimming. Please wear your PE kit for swimming as it is easier to change into.

Swimming – Swimming will take place every other week, rotating with Year 1.

Year 2 will be swimming on:

• 23.9.26
• 7.10.26

Forest Camp – Forest Camp is every other Tuesday. You should have been sent a list telling you whether your child is an Owl or a Hedgehog.
