Thank you so much for joining our Curriculum Sharing evening last Tuesday: I have put the notes from the meeting on the documents page of the website. Please let us know if there is any other information that would be helpful.
Last week we got the phonics groups started and this week we are getting going with activities to support the childrens’ fine motor skills and letter formation. We will also be writing labels so that they can use their phonic skills to write. If you would like to support this at home, your child could use sticky notes to label items around the house!
In maths we will continue to work on counting to ten, then twenty; writing and ordering numbers and counting small sets of objects accurately. We will also be planning to make a fruit kebab for a friend (next week) by asking them which fruits they like best and recording them. Related to this, we will be talking about healthy eating and what different food groups do to help our bodies.
Forest Camp on Monday is for the Fire and Water teams and we will be having our first swimming lessons on Wednesday afternoon – any extra practice with dressing skills will be much appreciated! PE will be on Friday as usual.
Thanks,
The Year 1 Team
