Dear Parents,
Year 5 have had a brilliant week this week!
English
The children have been working really hard in English to plan their next chapter of our class story Malamander, and excitingly today they wrote their chapter! We are really impressed by their extensive vocabulary, and use of speech as well. Hopefully we will be able to share this writing with you in the future. We are about half way through reading Malamander now, and we are looking forward to finding out the final adventures of Herbie and Violet next week.
Maths
In maths we have been continuing to focus on number lines this week, understanding how to draw a number line and the importance of equal gaps as the number line progresses. Next week the children will be exploring rounding numbers to the nearest 10,00, 100,000 and 1,000,000. On Friday we have an exciting BIG maths session where the children will be practicing their measuring and timing skills.
Topic
This week the children created some amazing posters displaying all the facts they had learnt about Australia, through our topic lessons and in computing.
Next week, we are very lucky to have the opportunity to fit in another PE lesson. On Wednesday, the children will need to come in, in their PE kits for an extra PE session with Coach Joe.
