On Thursday our mixed Year 1 and Year 2 football teams ventured to Kidmore End to play in a local football tournament. The opponents for each year group were Kidmore End, Peppard and Valley Road.

Our Year 1 team had a great time and, considering this was the first time these children had represented our school in a sporting event, played really well together. Out of their three matches, they won one and lost two, meaning a third placed finish overall.

The team was: Willow O-R, Sully G, Ronnie D, Isabelle E, Ethan Q, Rory V, Isabella F, Elowen B-M, Remy C and Maisie H.

Our Year 2 team – of which some were also competing for their school for the first time – faced their opposition on an all-weather surface. After one win, one draw and one defeat, they finished their competition in second place.

A massive well done to all of the children for their efforts, and a big thank you to those who helped with transport and cheered the children on!
