Another week has gone in the blink of an eye! The children have really embraced mark making this week and we have been really impressed with how much their drawing and pencil control has developed already. We read a book called ‘Squiggles on the Loose’ at the start of the week. Shortly after, we discovered lots of squiggles that had got loose in our classroom and loved tracking them all down. We then drew our own squiggles and hid them for our friends to find.
In Maths, we have continued getting to know the characters in ‘Ten Town’ and constantly remind our teachers that we need to have Maths so that we can learn who the next character will be! Next time you walk to school or walk around the shops, why not go for a number hunt? You could look at door numbers, prices in shops, numbers on car registration plates etc. Your child will, hopefully, be able to spot some of the numbers that we have learnt so far and may even be able to write them down. We have learnt up to number 12 so far. Can they spot each number?
Next week, we are going to be learning about autumn and the changes that the season brings. We will hunt round the school and collect leaves, conkers and pine cones and will be thinking about how the weather is starting to change and how some animals start to prepare for winter. We will also be thinking about harvest and will be creating artwork with fruit and vegetables.
We hope that you have a wonderful weekend.
