Dear Kites Parents,
The final challenge of the holidays.
Build those muscles!!
Rather than lots of handwriting (or weightlifting), can you help your child to build hand strength through:
-Playdough
-Lego
-Threading beads
-Cutting
-Drawing
-Colouring
-Building models
-Using tweezers to pick up objects
There are some more ideas here: Fine motor skills activities
All of these ideas help with fine motor development, which in turn helps your child to build those vital finger muscles and to be able to start to write.
Here is some information on FIne and Gross motor parent help and development.
Why not take some time to sit down and try one of these activities with your child? They will enjoy it more seeing you having fun too.
Good luck Kites and see you on Thursday September 3rd from 8:45 am.
The Kites Team.
