Hi everyone,

This week, Year 2 have been busy learning across the curriculum!

English – The children have been working on letter writing. They have been writing letters to Duncan, pretending to be crayons with complaints!

Maths – We have been practicing adding by making 10 and working on number bonds. If you’d like to do some extra maths at home, please could you practise number bonds. It is really useful for them to know these by heart.

Art – We have been developing our observational drawing skills, thinking carefully about texture and tone.

Next week

The children will be writing their final letters during Big Write. We will also be finishing our Great Fire of London houses and completing our final lessons on plants.

Reminders

TT Rock Stars and Spelling Shed – Activities have been set for your child on both platforms. Having a go earns them team points! Please also remember to write in your child’s planner when they have read, as this is another way to earn team points.

PE – Outdoor PE is on Mondays and indoor PE is on Wednesdays, when we are not swimming. Please ensure your child wears their PE kit on swimming days, as this makes getting changed much easier.

Swimming – Swimming takes place every other week, alternating with Year 1.

Forest Camp – Forest Camp takes place every Tuesday, with the children alternating between the Owls and Hedgehogs groups. You should have received a list confirming which group your child is in.
