Hello everyone!

Year 2 have had a lovely week!

In Literacy, we have been writing autumn picture descriptions and learning all about nouns.

In maths, we have been practising counting in 2s, 5s and 10s.

In topic, we learned about the order of events during the Great Fire of London and thought about some ways that people at the time could have stopped the fire from spreading.

In art, we explored different textures and experimented with making marks using charcoal and pastels.

This week, we will be continuing our autumn description writing. In maths, we will be consolidating our learning about place value. In science, we will be learning about what plants need to survive.

Well done to all the children who have been using TTRS and Spelling Shed at home — lots of team points have been awarded to Year 2 this week!

Reminders

Show and Tell – Show and Tell will now take place on Fridays instead of Tuesdays. Children can bring in something they have made or an achievement they are proud of to share with the class. Please do not bring toys in for Show and Tell.

We have also noticed that lots of small toys are being brought into school from home. Please could these be kept at home, as they can easily get lost or broken in school. Thank you for your support with this!

PE – Outdoor PE is on Mondays and indoor PE is on Wednesdays when we are not swimming. Please wear your PE kit on swimming days, as this makes it easier for children to get changed.

Swimming – Swimming will take place every other week, rotating with Year 1.

Year 2 will be swimming on:

• 7.10.26
• 21.10.26

Forest Camp – Forest Camp takes place every other Tuesday. You should have been sent a list telling you whether your child is an Owl or a Hedgehog.

• 29.9.26 – Hedgehogs
• 6.10.26 – Owls
• 13.10.26 – Hedgehogs
• 20.10.26 – Owls
