On Thursday Miss Snowden took two teams of year 5 children to a touch rugby festival at Shiplake College. The morning started with a fantastic Touch Rugby Masterclass led by Shiplake College sports scholars, where the children engaged in many different drills to refine their touch rugby skills. Once they had completed the activities, the tournament began.

We started with an exciting encounter where Sonning Common 1 played Sonning Common 2. Every player on the team gave it their all, and this match ended in a draw. After that, both squads went on to play teams from Shiplake Primary and Danesfield Primary. The matches were all very close, and there was some excellent sportsmanship on the pitch. We ended with an awards ceremony, and although we knew we hadn’t won, we were thrilled to receive the sportsmanship team of the tournament! A very special mention going to Miles R, who was awarded ‘Try of the Tournament’ by Shiplake College students!
