On Tuesday our KS2 Sportshall Athletics teams made their annual trip to Maiden Erlegh Chiltern Edge to compete in the indoor athletics event. As usual, this would be the only event for our Year 3/4 team, whereas our Year 5/6 team knew they had to win to qualify for the South Oxfordshire Finals and a chance to defend our title.

After completing each of the routine running, throwing, jumping and speed bouncing events, we are pleased to say that our Year 3/4 team – many of whom were representing the school in a sporting competition for the first time – finished first! An excellent effort that bodes well for the future!

Our Year 5/6 squad began their indoor athletics journey with a solid performance that also saw them win their age category and proceed to the South Oxfordshire Finals next term.

Overall, a superb morning of athletics from both age groups, and two first place finishes are a deserved reward for the dedication and enthusiasm they have shown throughout their winter training sessions.

We also pass on our huge gratitude to the parents who supported us and the children throughout the duration of the club as well as those who helped us walking to and from the competition.
