Dear Kites Parents,

Having spent some time by the coast this week where the rain was rather sporadic, it made me think about coats!

Today’s special challenge is for your child to put their coat on independently. They may have been taught the ‘coat flip‘ trick at nursery or pre-school. This is a great way to get the coat on in a fun and speedy way. Simply lie the coat, hood at bottom inside of coat upwards, on the floor. Your child puts their arms in and flips the coat over their head.

As a second challenge, can they attempt the zip? This may take a few practice sessions and may not be something they grasp until they have more fine motor control. Keep trying though!
