We have had a great first week back, enjoying our new topics and spending time with our friends.
In Maths, we have really enjoyed playing the game ‘Hit the Button’ to help speed up our recall when dividing numbers by ten. Here is the link if your child would like to have another go (Select ‘Division Facts’ and then ‘÷ by ten’) Hit the Button – Quick fire maths practise for 6-11 year olds (topmarks.co.uk). Next week, we will be looking at the 5 times table and using this to solve division questions. ‘Hit the Button’ can also be used to practise this times table.
Next week, in Literacy, we will continue to look at the book ‘Matilda’ and will be finding out more about the characters by looking at the words used to describe them. At the end of the week, we will create our own character and write a description about them. If your child has enjoyed ‘Matilda’, why not have a look at the Roald Dahl website. It has information about him, his stories as well as activities Home | Roald Dahl
Our DT topic is ‘Puppets’. We have looked at different types of puppets and will build towards designing and making our own one. If your child has a puppet (or a photo of one) at home, why not bring it in for ‘Show and Tell’?
Have a great week!
