In Literacy, we have continued learning about instructions. The key words have been instruct, imperative verbs (bossy words), time words (e.g. first, next, finally), title and step. If you want to help your child to consolidate their learning, why not try one of these activities which involve following instructions? Bird feeder instructions Cardboard rocket instructions . Alternatively, model building, recipes and board game instructions are all great examples. Why not find some examples together and talk about why their are necessary?

This week, we have been learning about money in Maths. Hopefully, your child is showing a good understanding of the different coins and adding them together to make different amounts but, if they have found it tricky, why not have a look through some of these explanations Money – KS1 Maths – BBC Bitesize There are also activities to play at the end of each to help them to consolidate what they have learnt.

In Science, our topic is ‘The Environment’ and Thursday’s lesson focused on how we can reduce, recycle and reuse items. Here are a few resources that your child might like to have a look at to help them better understand the subject Reduce! Reuse!
