Sonning Common Primary School

Space to learn, grow and be inspired

Week commencing 18th December

Somehow we have already reached the end of Term 2! We hope that you enjoyed our nativity. The children worked so hard to learn lyrics, dances and lines as well as speak clearly. We are very proud of them.

We are hoping that you will be able to join us at our school carol concert on Tuesday evening where the children from Years 2-6 will be singing. If you are able to bring your child along to perform, please drop them underneath the covered area in the KS1 playground at 5.50pm ready for a 6pm start.

This week, we will continue to look at diary entries in Literacy and, in Maths, will look at shape. If your child would like to consolidate their knowledge of shape, why not have a look at this page where there is information and quizes to try 2D and 3D shapes – KS1 Maths – BBC Bitesize

We have been asked if we will be sending home any work for the children to complete over the holidays. We feel that the children have worked so hard this term, they need time to rest and recuperate as well as simply enjoy the festivities. With this in mind, we have instead found lots of activities that you can try together as a family to, hopefully, not only help them practise skills that we have learnt at school but also to make memories that they will treasure for years to come.
