Term 4 Week 5 update

Hello, and welcome to another weekly Year 3 update! We just wanted to say thank you to those of you who we met on Tuesday and Thursday’s parent consultations. If you would still like to speak to either Mr. Burrows or Miss Green, please do get in touch with the office and we can get something organised.

This week, your children have been up to the following:

  • In literacy, we have been learning about sci-fi stories, and then wrote some brilliant counting poems for our Big Write on Friday.
  • In maths, we have either been looking at fractions or learning to tell the time on analogue clocks.
  • In topic, we looked at how life changed for people living in the Bronze Age.
  • In art, we painted on our ‘cave walls’ (rice and grains stuck stuck in our sketchbooks!)
  • In computing, we continued to practise emailing.

PE and swimming

Please remember that Thursday is the last day of term and we finish at 1.15pm, so your children will not have a PE lesson. They can come to school in normal uniform. PE on Monday is as normal.

This is also a reminder that Year 3 will be swimming again in Term 5, so we will send out a rota in due course.

Interhouse challenge

We apologise if you were inundated with requests from your children for LEGO earlier this week! This term’s Interhouse Challenge is to ‘Build the Change’, a joint project of Comic Relief and LEGO. Your children’s job is to design something using LEGO (or just to draw something) that might help to solve an ecological problem, like excess food waste or desertification. For more information, please visit www.comicrelief.com/rednoseday/schools/lego

We hope you have a wonderful weekend, and we will see your children for the last week of term on Monday!
