Hello, and welcome to the final Year 3 update of Term 3! Despite it being a relatively short term, lots has been going on and your children have dealt with it wonderfully. You should be very proud!

This week, we have been up to the following:

• In literacy, we have been up to all sorts!: discussing how we can make each feel special for Children’s Mental Health week; writing and performing raps about online safety for Safer Internet Day; and finishing off our beautiful Ancient Egyptian papyrus scrolls!
• In maths, we have been finishing off multiplication and division, or looking at units of length.
• In history, we learned about the many, many gods and goddesses of Ancient Egypt!
• In RE, we discussed meditation, and why Buddhists consider it to be important to their worldview.
• In computing, we finished off making a Word document about Ancient Egypt Day.
• In science, we were looking at sun safety. We learned how to protect our eyes and skin from UV light.

Swimming and PE

There will be no swimming for Year 3 during Term 4. This is so that Years 4, 5 and 6 have time in the pool to complete lifesaving lessons. This means that everyone should come to school in PE kit on Mondays and Thursdays next term.

Forest Camp

This is just a reminder that Forest Camp will be happening for Year 3 next term! On the day your child is scheduled to go (lists are below), please make sure that they come to school in a long-sleeved top and full-length bottoms (regardless of the weather). They should come to school in their school shoes and bring trainers or wellies to change into. Our advice is not to wear clothes that are too expensive or difficult to clean (or school uniform, of course)!

Water bottles

With the recent spate of sickness bugs in the school, we would ask that children bring in their own water bottle into school each day.
