Space to learn, grow and be inspired

Term 2 Week 7 update

Hello, and welcome to (almost) the final Year 3 update of 2023! I think it would be fair to say that it’s been a gruelling week for everyone – particularly the grown-ups – but we have been impressed with how well your children have been powering through what has been a very long term.

This week, your children have been up to the following:

  • In literacy, we have been drawing Christmas Eve comics!
  • In maths, we have been polishing off multiplication and division, or thinking about money.
  • In geography, we looked how the UK’s population has changed over the years, both in terms of size and diversity.
  • In computing, we were lucky enough to have a play with the school’s new fleet of BBC micro:bits! Go here to find out more about them.
  • In RE, we learned about some of different symbols used in Judaism, and then make our own Hamsas.

Swimming and PE

No swimming this coming week! But, there will still be PE on Monday, so please send your children in kit.

Ancient Egypt Day

On Tuesday 16th January, we are being visited by History Off The Page for an all-day workshop about the Ancient Egyptians. It is a brilliant learning experience, but in order for it to happen, we need your help! We are looking for volunteers who can spend the morning in school. If you are interested or would like further information, please get in touch with the office.

1.15pm finish on Wednesday

Don’t be the one who forgets that we finish early on Wednesday!

We hope you have a lovely weekend, and will see your children bright and early on Monday morning.
