Space to learn, grow and be inspired

Term 2 Week 6 update

Hello, and welcome to another weekly Year 3 update. It’s been a bit of an odd week here, with Miss Green ill for the entire time! Fingers crossed she will be well enough to be back in the classroom by Monday, but her class have got on beautifully with Mrs. Robins at the helm. We thank them (and you) for that.

This week, your children have been up to the following:

  • In literacy, we have been writing extended sentences using subordinating clauses (ask your children!), using the world of Harry Potter.
  • In maths, some of us have been working on multiplication and division, and others have been thinking about money. (Christmas is just around the corner, after all.)
  • In topic, we explored how London grew from a Roman settlement 2,000 years ago to the behemoth it is today.
  • In PSHE, we spent some time thinking about keeping safe on the railways, and also wrote Kenning poems exploring our identities.
  • In French, we practised the song we’ll be performing for everyone at the Carol Concert next Tuesday.

Swimming and PE

This week, it will be Miss Green’s class’s turn to go swimming. Mr. Burrows’s class should come to school on Thursday in PE kit.

Run Rudolph Run

Mr. Burrows was blown away by the quality of singing demonstrated by Year 3 this afternoon performing Run Rudolph Run without lyrics. Well done! But this is no time to stop and pat ourselves on the back! If you are able, please encourage your children to keep practising at home. We want Year 3 to be the talk of the Carol Concert!

Thank you for all your continued support. We hope you have a lovely weekend.
