Sonning Common Primary School

Space to learn, grow and be inspired

Week beginning 11th March

The signs of Spring are definitely present! We are looking forward to being able to spend more time outside now the weather is a little warmer!

Thank you again, for everyone who sent in tubes and cardboard in preparation for STEM week this week. We are really excited to spend the whole week focused on science. We have lots to look forward too; a visit from Johnson Matthey, Marble run making, designing parachutes for teddy bears and lots more!

Our theme for STEM week this year is TIME. With this in mind, in maths the children will be using stopwatches to time different experiments and we will start to talk about how to tell the time. If you are able to encourage the telling of the time at home too, that would be great!

Thank you all for the efforts you put in to your children’s world book day costumes last week! We had a wonderful day celebrating books and reading! The children loved writing sentences with ‘their word’ in.

This Friday it is RED NOSE DAY! Children are invited to wear something red for the day, like a red t-shirt or jumper. Please bring £1 in to donate on the gate for comic relief.

Have a lovely week!
