A very busy week ahead this week!  In literacy we will be assessing and regrouping all the children in phonics ready for next term, and writing the story of the Three Little Pigs.

In maths we will be looking at doubles, near doubles and subtraction. This is another week where Hit the Button will be a good game for practice.

On Wednesday this week we will be having a Chinese workshop – as Chinese New Year is just around the corner – and on Thursday we are launching our rockets (fingers crossed!!). Also on Thursday is the school disco, for KS1 4.15-5.45pm.

This week in P.E. we will be using climbing equipment such as the wall bars and ropes so it may help with grip if your child wears shorts under their tracksuit bottoms (legs being more grippy than fabric). Any long hair will also need to be tied back.

In science we will be investigating which material will make the best umbrella!

Miss Snowdon’s class will be swimming this week.

Next term there will be no swimming for Year 1 in order to make time for some of the older children to swim, and year 1 swimming will resume in term 5.
