Sonning Common Primary School

Space to learn, grow and be inspired

Week beginning 29th January

This week in literacy we will be practising retelling the story of the Three Little Pigs (acting it out, drawing a map etc) in preparation for retelling it in writing next week. Thank you for your continued support with your children’s reading, we can really see the difference that it is making!

In maths we are moving on to addition and subtraction with numbers to 20 and in science we are continuing are work on the properties of materials.

Last week’s PHSCE was about what to do if you get lost, and we had a good chat about it: a useful suggestion from the lesson was to learn your mum/dad’s mobile number and we thought that might be a good – if challenging! – piece of homework to attempt. Team points are on offer to those children who manage it.

We are finally going to build our rockets for the computing project this week (if you have any more bottles we’re still collecting) in preparation for testing next week. History this week is all about George Stephenson and trains.

Miss Bartlett’s class will be swimming on Wednesday.
