Dear Parents/Carers,

This week we will be continuing our work on the changing seasons but also starting to talk about the weather. We will be looking at two books in particular: The Rhythm of the Rain by Graham Baker-Smith and Meet the Weather by Caryl Hart to get us in the mood and to help us explore weather-related vocabulary which we can use in our writing. Our art and geography work is also all weather/season related and we are making displays to support our learning.

In maths we will be ordering numbers, using ordinal numbers (1st, 2nd, 3rd etc) and using a numberline to support this. If you have any board games at home: ludo, snakes and ladders etc, these would be really useful to play with your child to support this learning. This online game

is also good and can be made harder or easier to suit your child.

In PHSE we will be looking and different playground games and activities that the children can try and on Thursday there is a half hour drama workshop. We were hoping to focus on practising doing our coats up independently this week, but this lovely weather is against us!

Miss Bartlett’s class will be swimming on Wednesday. (Thank you, because the children have been very good with bringing in the equipment for their various activities, which really helps).
