This week, we have concluded our Roman topic by looking at Hadrian’s Wall and the withdrawal of Rome from Britain. Our next history topic will follow on from this to look at the Anglo Saxon period and the Viking invasions.
In maths this week, Y4 have begun looking at money. With an increasingly digital world, it can be difficult for children to fully understand the value of money. If you are at the shops at any point over the coming weeks, please talk to your children about rounding to estimate totals as you shop or about budgeting. These are really important life skills and will help to make their classroom learning more meaningful.
The Battle of the Emperors was a great success! Well done to everyone who participated, there were lots of great scores. The top scorers were: The TTRS homework for the next 2 weeks is set to Soundcheck. This function of TTRS mimics the style of game play that they will see when they do their multiplication check in June. It is important that all of the children are as familiar and comfortable with this as possible. Please help encourage your child to complete the soundchecks. We are also encouraging the children to wait for the question to change rather than hitting enter, this helps them to slow down and avoid typing errors.
