Space to learn, grow and be inspired

Term 4 Week 5

In our last week of term, year 4 have finished off their explanation text about teeth and then got a bit more creative…we went back to thinking about Tomas and Flicker and what we would like to grow on a magical plant. The children thought about what the plant would look like and how the seed/egg would grow. We then thought about the creature that might grow inside the seed/egg. The children all drew some amazing creations and wrote a short description about their imaginary plant and creature.

In maths, we did some arithmetic and problem solving questions this week. The children are getting very good at using all of the tools and strategies that they have been taught, showing strength in arithmetic. We will be working on their reasoning skills next term. If you have the opportunity to ask your children to explain anything over half term, it will help to build a firm foundation on which we can build their reasoning skills.

If your children have started asking questions about the trip in June, the Ufton Court website has some information about the activities and there are a few photos of the main building and grounds that you can show them. If you have any questions about the trip, please get in touch. We will send out more information next term.

We have asked the children to take home their pencil cases, please take this opportunity to make sure that they are fully stocked with pencils and a glue stick.

We have given the children a sheet with some optional Easter homework on. There are points on offer for each task completed with bonus points for detailed and neatly presented work. See the link in case your child’s sheet has wandered off! Year 4 Optional Easter Homework

Well done to all of year 4 for an amazing term, it was a short one but we packed a lot into it! Swimming has now finished for year 4. Don’t forget that 4RF/CH will have forest camp in the first 2 weeks back after Easter. Term begins again Monday 13th April.

Have a fabulous Easter Break!
