This week, year 4 have finished their retelling of Flotsam which has made a beautiful addition to their profile books. Since then, literacy lessons have taken on a SPaG focus, in particular, looking at contractions. We have learnt how the apostrophe replaces the missing letters. e.g. did not – didn’t. Next week we will be looking at two different types of poetry: Kennings and Tetractys.

Year 4 have been wrapping up their science and computing topics. We will be moving on to looking at electricity and internet safety. It is internet safety day on Tuesday February 10th. In that week, the children will be involved in a special assembly. Year 4 are also getting involved by creating some posters for other year groups to learn about internet safety.

The next two weeks, year 4 will be looking at smoothies for their DT project. They will get the opportunity to taste test some samples so that they can decide what they may want to include in their own recipe. We will be making the smoothies February 13th. We will let you know more details closer to the time.

The children were reminded in assembly today that scooters and bikes should be walked through the playground at the beginning and end of the day. We would appreciate your support in reminding the children as you drop them off and pick them up.

Next week is 4 JM/KC’s turn for swimming, please bring appropriate kit on Thursday.
