Well done year 4 for a great last week of term!
Year 4 had a lot of fun in our big maths sessions, taking part in a variety of activities in our carousels this morning. This has concluded our addition and subtraction unit. Next term we will be looking at multiplication and division and how to apply what we have learnt so far. It’s great to see some of the children have already started putting scores on the leader board for the TTRS battle event. The battle will end on November 13th. Who will be champion?
The children had a lot of fun in literacy this week, focusing on performance and recitation of short poems. The children really engaged with this and we had some memorable performances! After half term, we will be starting to read the Iron Man by Ted Hughes. We know that this is a popular children’s book, if you happen to have a copy, the children are welcome to bring in their own copy of the book so that they can read along during lessons.
We’ve had some amazing pieces of extra homework coming in, seen some beautiful diagrams and the children have really enjoyed seeing the working volcano models. Earlier this week, we saw a papier mache volcano in action. Today a small group saw an oozy Lego model. Keep them coming! Don’t forget that photos can also be emailed in.
It has been a busy start to year 4, we hope everyone has a fabulous break and we look forward to welcoming the children back on Monday November 3rd.
