Space to learn, grow and be inspired

Term 2, week 2

Year 4 Update: A Fantastic First Week Back!

Year 4 has had an exciting and creative week as we jump back into learning after half term! We’ve been diving into war poetry, crafting powerful similes and metaphors to bring our writing to life. In PE, we took on the lively “Lindy Hop” dance—be sure to ask us to show off our new moves at home! In French, we’ve been practising how to talk about our favourite foods (and those we’d rather avoid!).

This Week:

Literacy: We’re reading Sugarcane Juice by Pratima Mitchell and sharpening our writing skills with a focus on using nouns, pronouns, and speech marks effectively.

History Topic: Our exploration of the Romans continues, with a focus on how the Roman Empire expanded. It’s an incredible journey through history!

Art: We’ll be learning how light affects colour in art and everyday life. By painting a simple object, we’ll experiment with mixing tints and shades to create a realistic, three-dimensional effect.

PSHE: This week, we’re talking about dental health, discovering the best ways to care for our teeth and keep them strong.

Reminders

Forest Camp: Group 2 (Miss Green’s class) will head to Forest Camp soon! Please remember to send your child in long sleeves and trousers, along with waterproof clothing and wellies. If you’re unsure of your child’s group, the list is posted in Miss Stone’s window.
