Year 4 End of Term 3 Update

Year 4 have had a great final week of Term 3. We completed our persuasive leaflets on why an alien should come to our school and explored conductors and insulators in science.

After Half Term

Literacy – We will be starting How to Train Your Dragon. The children will be designing their own dragons and exploring the first few chapters of the book. If you have a copy of the first How to Train Your Dragon book at home, your child is welcome to bring it in to read along with us.

Maths – Miss Stone’s group will continue working on fractions, while Miss Green’s group will begin learning about length and perimeter. We will also be increasing our focus on times tables. After half term, TTRS homework will be Soundcheck. Over the break, there will be a Rockstar Battle on TTRS.

Topic – We will begin our Viking topic, leading up to our trip to Ufton Court.

Reminders

• Ufton Court Residential Trip – This will take place from 12th-14th March (Week 3 of Term 4). Please check previous school communications for detailed information. If you have any questions, please speak to your child’s teacher.
• Pencil Cases – We have noticed that some children’s pencil cases are running low. Please check that your child has the following: a glue stick, pencil, rubber, ruler, and coloured pencils.
• Swimming in Term 4 – Year 4 will have swimming lessons next term. Each week, your child will need:
  • A swimming costume
  • A light t-shirt and shorts to wear over their swimming costume
  • A swimming hat and goggles
  • A towel
