Hello Year 4!
We have had a fun first full week back in Year 4! Here are some of the things we will be doing this week…
RE: We are exploring the big question, “How are different worldviews connected?” The children have been discussing how beliefs and values shape people’s perspectives and what we can learn from different cultures and religions.
Art: Our focus this week is on self-portraits! Inspired by the abstract style of Pablo Picasso.
PE: In PE, we will be doing more gymnastics! The children are working on balance, coordination, and basic movements. It’s been wonderful to see their confidence grow as they try out new skills
PSHE: This week, we’re discussing healthy friendships. We’ve been talking about what makes a good friend, how to resolve conflicts, and how to support one another in positive ways.
Literacy: We’re diving into performance poetry this week, focusing on “The Bogey Men and the Trolls Next Door” by Kaye Umansky. The children are practicing their expressive reading, working on rhythm, and getting ready to perform their poems in front of the class.
Maths: We will be carrying on with place value. Looking at rounding and comparing numbers.
Reminders:
PE days are Monday and Wednesday.
Homework is due on Thursday.
Please can you make sure your child’s belongings are named.
Thank you for your support,
The Year 4 team.
