Hello, and welcome to another weekly Year 5 update. It’s been a tough week in terms of illness (teachers haven’t been immune, sadly – Mr Burrows has spent most of the week at home), but hopefully we can all have a brilliant final week at school before the holidays.
This week, your children have been up to the following:
- In literacy, we’ve been learning some of the grammar needed to write excellent reports about Victorian workhouses (like relative clauses and conjunctive adverbs).
- In maths, we’ve either been working on adding and subtracting fractions or solving word problems using multiplication and division.
- In PE, we were working on our shooting in netball.
- We’ve been finding time throughout the week to practise our song ahead of Wednesday’s Christmas carol service.
Spelling words
We actually replaced spelling lessons this week with practising our Christmas song!
PE
PE will be only be on Monday this week as school finishes at 1.15pm on Friday.
Early finish
Don’t forget that school finishes at 1.15pm on Friday!
Thanks for your continued support, have a lovely weekend, and we will see your children bright and early on Monday morning.
