Dear Parents,
We hope you have all had a wonderful week! We have had a fun-filled science week – from awesome explosions, to tasty chocolate melting, we have enjoyed it all.
This week, the children were challenged to think of questions to answer using science. Our big question of the week was: ‘Does heat effect…?’ which turned out to be loads of fun! We explored whether heat effected: jelly, chocolate, and ice! We also made a fantastic volcano and learnt all about volcanic eruptions! We used our learning from Oracy to think about questions we could ask, and discussing what we think could happen. I hope you enjoy seeing some photos of what we have been up to on Evidence Me!
We have also been preparing for our school trip on Monday! We have been looking at the Earth Trust website and thinking about how to stay safe when we are out at school. The trip letter contains all the information about the trip including a list of everything the children will need. We will be leaving and returning within school hours. If there was to be a significant delay on our return, we will send a message through MCAS on the day (this is very unlikely but I thought I’d let you know just in case).
Speak Up!
After taking a break from our formal Oracy sessions this week to focus on questioning throughout STEM week, we are looking forward to continuing our sessions with Drizzle Dragon next week where we will be talking about what happens on a farm!
Jumpers and cardigans
We have a number of jumpers and cardigans in Kites which are not named. There have also been several cardigans and jumpers which have gone missing. Whilst we always try our best to match the jumper with the child, it makes it much more difficult if it is not clearly named. Please could you make sure that school uniform, including PE kit and forest camp kit is all clearly named.
