Basic ICT problems and how to troubleshoot them.

A lot of problems come into contact with your computer, and it is very important that we know how to troubleshoot them. Here are some basic ICT problems and how to troubleshoot them.

  1. Your computer is frozen and you haven’t pressed ‘freeze’.- Find the refresh button (looks a bit like a recycle symbol) and check you haven’t accidently pressed it.
  2. Your computer won’t start- This could mean a failing power supply. Check that your computer is plugged in. If that doesn’t work, check another device on the same power supply.
  3. Your computer is very slow. This could mean an overload of files. Delete unwanted files and try again. Also look at your device’s storage.
  4. Strange noises coming from your computer-A lot of noise coming from your computer is generally a sign of either hardware malfunction or a noisy fan. Hard drives often make noise just before they fail, so you may want to back up information just in case, and fans are very easy to replace.                                               By Alice.
