Hello every one and welcome back to SCPS! I am so happy to have your child in my Year 2 class and look forward to the year ahead.

This past week we have worked hard on settling into the new classroom rules and routines.

Next week we begin the official timetabled lessons and start the Year 2 curriculum.

In Literacy, we will work on adjectives and similes with the help of ‘The Colour Monster’ book. You can access a read along here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=W6wIEp-M4tg

In Maths, we will recall our numbers up to 20, looking at number bonds, tens frames and greater/less than.

In Topic, we will compare London past vs present day.

In Science, we will find out what Plants need to grow and plant our own pots of cress.

On Monday, please join me for the Year 2 Curriculum sharing evening over Google Meet. A link will be sent out via the school office.

On Tuesday, Owls will go to Forest Camp. Please ensure all children bring kit and wellies to school.

On Monday and Wednesday please wear PE kit. Swimming will be alternate Wednesdays, starting on the 17th September.

An optional weekend challenge this week is to write a list of 5 interesting adjectives. Present in school for 3 team points.
